The Universe - Lovechild of God and Science
By Gowtham

“I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know his thoughts. The rest are details” - Albert Einstein
Krish was fascinated by science. He would often spend his time reading about the History and the wonders of the universe. He loved to think about how things worked. “Science can explain everything,” He believed that if people studied hard enough and listen to scientists, there would be nothing left unexplained.
Sree, on the other hand, had a deep belief in God. She found peace in her prayers. To her, life had meaning because of a higher power guiding everything. “Some things can’t be understood by science alone,” she would tell Krish with a calm smile.
One evening, the two of them were sitting on a hill, watching the sun slowly set with drinks in their hand. The sky was filled with bright oranges. Krish pointed up and said, “See that? Science can explain exactly why the sky changes colors at sunset. It’s all about how sunlight bends through the atmosphere.”
Sree looked at the same sky and replied gently, “I believe the sky is beautiful because God made it so. Science might tell us how it works, but it doesn’t explain why it fills my heart with such inner peace.”
Krish thought for a moment. “But Sree, we can explain almost everything with science now. We know why rain falls, how plants grow, even how the universe began billions of years ago. Doesn’t that make God less necessary?”
Sree shook her head softly. “Just because we understand how something happens doesn’t mean we know why it all matters. Science helps us understand the world, but God gives us a sense of purpose”
Krish was quiet, watching the sky turn darker as the stars began to appear. After a while, he said, “Maybe we both are right. Science can answer a lot of my questions” He said with a smile “There’s something about the mystery, about believing in something bigger, that makes life feel fuller…for you”
Sree smiled too. “I feel the same way. Faith and science don’t have to be separate. They can help each other.”
As the night fell and the stars twinkled, they realized that despite their different views, they had both found beauty in the world around them.
Their shared wonder for the world brought them even closer. Together, they learned that both science and faith could coexist, giving them a deeper understanding of each other and of the world around them.
And so, Krish and Sree’s love grew—rooted in the mysteries of the universe and the beauty of believing in something beyond.
